Peran Media Sosial Dalam Mempengaruhi Keputusan Orang Tua Mengenai Imunisasi Anak Di Desa Rayeuk Kuta Kecamatan Tanah Luas Kabupaten Aceh Utara
Abstract
Immunization is defined as the process of administering vaccines to stimulate the immune system to protect against infectious diseases. It is particularly effective for children as an early prevention and control measure for life-threatening diseases. Social media is a key factor influencing parents' decisions regarding child immunization in Rayeuk Kuta Village, Tanah Luas District, North Aceh Regency. This study used a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach and a sample of 30 respondents.Univariate test results showed that the majority of respondents had good knowledge (23 respondents/76.67%) had good knowledge, 1 respondent/3.33% had very good knowledge, and 5 respondents/16.67% had fair knowledge). Only 17 respondents (56.67%) had good knowledge, 4 respondents (13.33%) had very good knowledge, and 9 respondents (30%) were neutral. 80% of respondents expressed positive attitudes toward immunization education on social media, while 20% were uncertain. Eight respondents (26.6%) strongly agreed with immunization, 9 respondents (30%) agreed, and 13 respondents (43.3%) disagreed. Overall, the majority of respondents understood the benefits of immunization, but attitudes still needed to be improved. The bivariate Chi-square test showed a p=0.016 relationship between knowledge and immunization (<0.05) and a p=0.001 relationship between attitude and social media (<0.05), indicating a significant relationship. Therefore, it is hoped that the public will maximize social media as an educational tool through simple and engaging content, such as short videos on WhatsApp and Instagram, explaining the benefits of vaccines and debunking myths and hoaxes, so that parents will be more confident in vaccinating their children.
