DETERMINAN SOSIAL-EKONOMI DAN KEPATUHAN PENGOBATAN PADA PASIEN TUBERKULOSIS DI WILAYAH TERPENCIL ACEH UTARA
Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major health problem in Indonesia, especially in remote areas such as SimpangKeuramat sub-district, North Aceh. This study aims to identify the sociodemographic characteristics of TB patients, explore socio-economic and behavioral factors that influence treatment success, and analyze barriers to the implementation of the DOTS strategy at the community health center level. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with eight respondents (n=8) consisting of TB patients in the Simpang Keuramat community health center area. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, home observations, and medical document analysis. The results showed that treatment success was still low (25%), influenced by low levels of education, economic conditions, social stigma, and limited access to health services. Environmental and behavioral factors such as smoking also slowed the patient's condition. These findings emphasize the importance of a cross-sectoral approach between the government, health workers, and the community to increase treatment attendance and the effectiveness of the DOTS strategy.
